1...2...3...CHEEEEEZ
Like all kids, Barrett grew up listening to the music most loved by his parents. Music from the likes of Sunday Manoa, Hui Ohana, Palani Vaughn, Makaha Sons, Olomana, and of course Elvis Presley to name a few.
Tara on the other hand grew up loving a wide range of music from Beatles to Eagles, Patsy Cline to Aretha Franklin, and of course traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music.
Barrett and Tara's music career is attributed to the strong music influence of the Kamehameha Schools. Barrett has been playing music for over 15 years and is a part of the 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano award winning group "Kaukahi". His solo debut release "Kalana" in 2009 was awarded the Hoku award for Religious Album of the Year 2010! With this win Barrett joined a small list of local recording artists who are winners as a member of two different acts or entities. Other artists who have earned that distinction include Kapono Beamer, Keola Beamer, Robert Cazimero, Roland Cazimero, Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom, Willie K, Henry Kapono Kaaihue and Led Kaapana. This is a very distinguished group of entertainers that Barrett has been able to receive such honor and recognition with.
Tara played a intrigal role in "Kalana" as a supporting vocalist on every song, and also shared the lead vocal on a couple songs including the hit song "Shine The Way". On newest release "Golden Streets" Tara takes more of a lead vocal role. Paul Simon's classic tune "Bridge Over Troubled Water" lead by Tara and rearranged in a moving acoustic style is already a hit song on local radio. She also shares her gift at composing and writting with "In You", a personal testimony of her life dealing with insecurities and finding 'True Love' in the 'One' who brought all healing to her life!
Together as a duo, Barrett and Tara's music comes from the heart and touches the heart!
Their unique, one of a kind blend, is a true match made in heaven. Many in Hawaii and now reaching abroad are finding out the depth of the message sung and shared in their live performances. As Barrett states, "music is a message, we strive to share a message of forgiveness and the power of true love!"

Speaking at Iolani H.S. for FCA
Presently, Barrett is the Director of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Hawaii. Over 400 student athletes and 20 coaches are being reached weekly by this ministry accross the state of Hawaii. This demands many speaking engagements around the state to minister to athletes and coaches. “I always like to take my ukulele and sing a song or two…it helps me get focused and gives me peace” …he laughs, “I hope it gives them peace too.” For more info on FCA Hawaii visit www.fcahawaii.org.
